Dear Friends!
Our CELL-CUP 2010 International Handball Festival holds new surprises for its FOURTEENTH BIRTHDAY too.
The location of the festival will be the city of VESZPRÉM next to lake BALATON home of the world-famous team of MKB VESZPRÉM KC.
Veszprém is a historical town, the Town of Queens , thus it is obvious that the citizens of the city are proud of their traditions – of those which can be dated back to a hundred years ago and of those which are rooted in the recent past. They look after their surroundings and the look of their downtown buildings is also being improved. Residents taking part in the ’For A Flowering Veszprém’ movement take good care of their gardens and balconies so that they can offer a more harmonious experience for those living in the town or visiting it. In spring the Festival Of Dance, in May the Gizella Days and in summer the Street Music Festival are those events which have been recently introduced and attract people to Veszprém from its wider surroundings, from other towns and even other countries.
Looking down from the top of the hill the breath-taking panorama of the city opens up to our eyes, while walking around the baroque castles and the narrow streets of the old town takes us to a real time travel.
And we can not forget the wonderful area of BALATON with a bunch of medieval castles, the folklore, gastronomy, and famous wines that offer an unforgettable experience. While Veszprém is the tourist center of the region, the living history itself, is also a fast developing campus, base of research-and-development. A wide range of financial and economical ventures can be found from both native and foreign investors. The fortunate location, the developing civil aviation, the main road nr. 8, and the connection to future motorway M 8 literally opens new gates.
In the town of queens handball is the king. The fist league team MKB VESZPRÉM KC is rightly world-famous, no wonder not only the residents of Veszprém are proud of them. The quality sport is also represented by the VEDAC club of athletics with many success on the olympics, the first league volleyball teams, and the second league basketball and football teams.
Former CELL-CUP Festivals were big success both among those who are concerned with handball and those who were only spectators.
So far we met 1046 teams (about 16.140 players) from 36 different countries . The event was a great opportunity for vocational training, getting acquainted with each other's sporting manners, culture and customs and creating and cultivating friendships. We would like to offer everybody unforgettable experiences and would like all of you to get known with Hungary , The city of Veszprém and the regions of Bakony and Balaton. Herewith we, organizers, invite you and your team to the CELL-CUP 2010 Festival .
We hope you will not be disappointed, and become an ever returning dear guest and friend in the future.
